Cash boost for Robert Price charity challenge

Melin Homes has supported staff from Robert Price in their bid to raise money for two Welsh charities by taking on a 50-mile challenge. The communities’ team at Melin backed the challengers with a cash boost of £150 that will benefit mental health charity Mind in Blaenau Gwent and Torfaen. The team from Robert Price will also be adding to that amount and the money they raise will also benefit Cancer Research Wales.

The 2016 Robert Price Charity Challenge saw staff take on a gruelling 12 hour mission, to walk from Brecon to Merthyr, via Pen-Y-Fan, then cycle to Cardiff Bay – a total distance of over 50 miles!

Molly Pike, marketing manager and organiser of the challenge, commented: “What a result! An unprecedented effort from the whole team made for a fantastic day. Not even the predictable Welsh weather held us back.”

If you’d like to sponsor the Robert Price Challenge team in support of Torfaen Mind please find details of how to donate at their BT MyDonate page.

Or, if you’d like to sponsor them in support of Cancer Research Wales please find details of how to donate at their Just Giving page.

Chief Executive of Melin Homes Mark Gardner said: “Our communities fund exists to help local projects and benefit communities as well as Melin residents. We were proud to sponsor our partners at Robert Price in their valiant efforts in such a strenuous challenge.”
