Our community fund Jump 2+ has recently given out over £1560 to great causes. A resident who had been through a traumatic time applied to our Bursary Jump2+ to get funding to help her turn her life around and start a new business. She will get £995 to fund a Level 3 Diploma in teaching Yoga (YMCA Awards). Older people living in Melin’s sheltered schemes will also benefit as she has agreed to give them free introductory yoga sessions.

Local disabled children’s charity TOGs is also set to benefit from Jump2+ as they get over £560 towards creating a sensory garden at the front of their building. The New Inn charity will transform their outside space with a jungle theme and the garden will feature different levels, smells and touch experiences for the children as they enter the building. Our Communities team has also arranged for charity Growing Spaces to complete the work as they have a wealth of experience in creating sensory gardens.

Melin’s Deputy Chief Executive Peter Crockett said; “Staff at Melin regularly donate to Jump2 through Mufti days, an annual Golf Day and Melin Quiz Night and are thrilled to know that their money really makes a difference to people’s lives.”
