Care and Repair trusted assessors
Training completed by Care and Repair staff means that clients get a faster service when they need low level adaptations. All our Caseworkers and the Safety at Home Technicians have completed the Trusted Assessor course, which brings them up to the same level as an Assistant Occupational Therapist. The team can now refer directly to our technicians for low level adaptations such as grab rails and half steps. Previously they would have had to follow their first visit with another from a member of social services, who would then ask us to fit the rail or step. Older people now get a more efficient service and less visits, meaning they don’t have to wait as long for the safety measures.
