TVIGG get Jump Fund boost
Torfaen Visually Impaired Gym Group (TVIGG) were delighted when we recently sponsored new t-shirts for the group with Melin Jump Fund.
TVIGG is a visual support gym and social group which helps visually impaired people from Torfaen improve their physical activity and stay healthy. The group meets every Wednesday at Pontypool Leisure Centre for an hour’s gym session and a quick coffee afterwards. It is a great way for members to keep fit and meet up with friends, and they are helped out by a bunch of willing volunteers.
TVIGG applied to Melin’s community grant to fund new T-shirts for them to wear in their gym sessions. The t-shirts will help make the group instantly recognisable and give a clear distinction between members in blue and volunteers in red – both with our Melin logo on the back. The group is always looking for new members and it is hoped that the t-shirts will help raise the profile of TVIGG and encourage people to join, regardless of their age or ability.
Andrew Woolfall, who applied on behalf of the group and is a keen gym member, was really pleased with the shirts, saying “I’d like to say a big thank you to Melin for all of their support, not just with the Jump Fund but with their efforts to help us fundraise as well. The group love meeting up at the gym and their new t-shirts as well!”
