Our Being Greener team have received Industry recognition receiving the new idea award at Welsh Housing Awards, 2016. David Wallace, energy project officer collected the award saying “The real winners are the people who have benefitted from the project.”
Research published in July 2016 by National Energy Action, Cymru has shown that despite fuel poor households decreasing by 6% in the last four years an estimated 29,000 people are still in fuel poverty.
It’s Big Energy Saving Week, and we are fully behind the national campaign helping people cut their fuel bills and access financial help.
We are helping spread the word; Smart Meters are the new generation of gas and electricity meters which will replace the traditional meters in our homes. Every home in England, Scotland and Wales will be offered a smart meter by their energy supplier, at no extra cost, between now and 2020.
The Welsh Government Warm Homes Arbed project, working with Merthyr Tydfil Council, has invested over £3.5 million improving the energy efficiency of 293 homes in Twynyrodyn, Merthyr Tydfil.
