Age UK is a local charity working in the community to support older people, their families and carers. Their offices are now closed but atelephone service is still in operation. If you require information and advice please telephone 08000 223444. Alternatively visit their website.

Care & Repair – Helping older people to live independently in warm, safe, accessible homes. Due to COVID-19 Care & Repair Cymru has closed its office, and most staff are working from home. Many staff are still providing front line services in communities and hospitals across Wales. Visit their website to see the support they can provide.

Newport Care & Repair is a service available to homeowners or privately renting tenants, aged over 60, and who live in Newport. Providing a range of advice and practical solutions to help you carry out home improvements, repairs, or adaptations to your home that allow you to live independently.

Eden Gate are currently only open to people who have no cooking facilities such as rough sleepers and people living in hotels. You can contact them for more information on 01633 243235.

The Raven House Trust are a foodbank that is still operating to their normal hours through the crisis. 

Newport Foodbank are still operating to their normal hours through the crisis and can be contacted easily through Facebook messenger.


Powys

Credit Unions

Red Kite Credit Union provides Safe Savings and Easy Loans in Powys Wales.

Brecon & District Credit Union was established in 1995 by community members within the County of Powys who identified the need to tackle issues such as social and financial exclusion, unlicensed lenders (loan sharks) and regeneration.

Age Cymru Powys are your local independent charity providing information, advice and support for older people in Powys.

Care & Repair in Powys provides expertise, advice and practical support to older people or people with disabilities who need to undertake repairs, renovations or adaptations to their home.
