Update during the Coronavirus
Laundry
In our sheltered and extra care schemes; guest bedrooms, communal lounges and activity areas will be closed. Communal laundries will remain open. Some schemes already have a rota system in place, others don't, so we ask that you take a sensible approach to ensure that everyone is able to do their laundry using precautions to limit the use to one resident at a time.
Maintenance
We are expecting increased demand on heating and hot water systems. To make sure everything continues to run as it should, our engineers are making regular visits to sites. We've also stocked these sites with critical components so that we can fix things quickly if anything breaks.
Cleaning
Our cleaning contractors are still cleaning as per the normal schedule. They will pay special attention to areas most likely to be touched like handrails, door handles and lift buttons. They are using cleaning chemicals especially designed to kill viruses.
For everything else
All other contracts are still operating, such as grounds maintenance, communal alarm inspections and other safety critical tests and repairs. We will restrict this work to communal areas except where there is a safety-critical repair we need to undertake in a flat or house. In this case staff will wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
