Planting trees for charity

We have a staff recognition scheme called, diolch. Fellow staff can nominate each other for a diolch award when they feel a colleague has gone above and beyond in their role.It has always been a really popular scheme, but since lockdown staff have been recognizing the amazing effort by their peers more than ever.
Staff receive a certificate, and can chose a reward from a donation to our charity of the year, currently St David’s Hospice, trees planted in their name through a scheme run by Size of Wales or a box of chocolates.
Since introducing the scheme Melin have now helped Size of Wales plant over 1,000 trees, donated over £1,000 in money to St David’s and supplied 25 boxes of chocolates.
In recent times staff have requested chocolates be sent to NHS staff as a way of spreading a little thanks.
Policy and Development Manager, Kevin Rahman-Daultrey from Size of Wales said;
“Tropical forests are vital in our efforts to tackle the climate emergency. With support from Melin Homes we have been able to plant over 1000 trees and counting. It is great to have the support of Melin Homes in the work we do, especially in the current climate.”
