Tenancy Sustainability Success

Thanks to help from our Tenancy Sustainability Officer an ex-serviceman has been able to turn his life around. He had lost touch with his family and was living on the streets before moving to temporary accommodation. When he moved into a Melin home Kate visited him to see how we could help. This made all the difference and with our advice he accessed benefits he hadn’t been claiming and maximised his income through a Universal Credit claim and he applied for PIP. We were also able to connect the resident with the armed forces charity SSAFA. They supported the resident with their rent and council tax arrears.

Now he says he no longer ‘feels like a failure’ and is back in touch with his family.
