This December our Communities Team has been busy spreading Christmas cheer. Santa and his elves visited nine sheltered schemes, some of our estates and Torfaen Women’s Aid to give out presents.
Even in the wet weather we’ve had recently, they managed to get out and treat our residents to some Christmas cheer. The Santa Runs are such a wonderful way to end the year and to show the residents just how much we care, from the little children to our older residents – they thoroughly enjoyed our visits.
They had such a wonderful time and so did our residents:
One youngster said that they ran all the way back from school because they’d heard that Santa was visiting, “Santa gave me and my brother a box of chocolates, thank you so much for bringing him here”.
One lady from Lavender Gardens (our extra care scheme in Abergavenny) said that “hearing the kids sing those lovely Christmas songs made my day, it was great”.
A total of 24 staff members helped on these Santa runs, dedicating some of their time to making spreading some Christmas cheer to our residents. Thank you to all members of staff who have helped at these scheme visits, to the 15 members of staff that spent their lunchtimes wrapping presents, and of course a massive thank you to our fantastic Communities Team for always going above and beyond for our residents.
Merry Christmas everyone!
