We have been re-awarded the Gold and Platinum Corporate Health Standard from the Welsh Government. The Corporate Health Standard is part of the Welsh Government‘s Healthy Working Wales programme and is the national mark of quality for health and wellbeing in the workplace.
The Corporate Health Standard has four levels of award to recognise each stage of the developmental health and well-being work achieved by employers. Platinum is the beacon for exemplar employers who demonstrate sustainable business practices and take full account of their corporate social responsibilities. The Platinum level recognises responsible employers who demonstrate an organisational commitment to support not only their employees, but also other employers and the local community.
Melin Homes is one of the best examples I have come across of wellbeing being deeply integrated into the culture and the fabric of the organisation. The meeting with the Platinum Working Group provided so much information and detail, which provoked the comment ‘it’s so well integrated into what we do, that we don’t always realise how much we do!’
Ava added, ”My only development point for the future would be to keep doing what you are doing. Well done to you all.”
Further feedback highlighted a number of successes across the organisation; the culture of health & wellbeing is seamless – one of the best examples the assessor has seen of wellbeing being deeply integrated into the culture and fabric of the organisation; senior staff and Melin’s Board have a strong commitment, a strong wellbeing working group who actively responds to employee suggestions, and a
commitment to corporate social responsibility.

We have also been awarded a Healthy Working Wales Covid-19 Commendation Award for Best Company Response Supporting Staff by Public Health Wales and Welsh Government.
